My new lens care solution - Clear care

I have myopia and have been wearing glasses from 5th grade and have been wearing lenses since 7th grade. That makes it 13 years, since I started wearing lenses.

Initially, I had a lens solution (Bausch and Lomb) and a deproteinizing tablet. I would have to soak the lens with this tablet to remove any protein built up on the lens. Then I moved on to Bausch and Lomb multi purpose solution, that removed the weekly tablet chore.

Recently after moving to US, I was shopping for a lens solution and and picked up two bottles of Clear care on sale.



Few changes:
a. Do not have 2 individual cases to soak lens. Have single plate with two cages on either side. I had to put my lens inside them and lock the cage. (First few days, this process looked kind of messy and cumbersome. But after a week, it was as convenient as the lens cases.)
b. You then immerse the cage in a bottle filled with solution. Once you dip cage with lens, the solution it starts bubbling.
c. You cannot use the solution directly to rinse the lens and wear the lens. I use the remaining solution in the small bottle to rinse if necessary. The lens has to be soaked for minimum 6 hours.

Pros:
a. I find the lens more comfortable to wear now. After long hours (8-12 hours) my lens would dry and would be little uncomfortable to wear. This problem seems to have reduced.
b. Every morning, I used to wake up with slight burning sensation. This problem has reduced as well.

Cons:
a. I used to reuse the solution in my case. This does not seem possible. The amount of solution required is also a little more.

Now, I am glad, I picked up those bottles.. Happy Clear Care customer..

Damn passwords...

I mix old password with new ones... Everytime I change password, invariably I lock my account by typing the old password and not remembering the new one..

Past 3 days... I locked my bank account(real pain to get them reset your password and mail it to you) and now my vpn access to office.. damn!!!

Bollywood actors brand amabassdors for laptops

Of late, laptop manufacturers are roping bollywood actors to endorse their product..
Compaq Presario - Shahrukh Khan
Toshiba - Vidya Balan
Lenova - Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan


Even if I were a Saif fan.. why in freaking God's name would I buy a laptop that he endorses.. What would these people know about laptops.. Would they know the difference between core duo and a core 2 duo..

They endorse these products, with a barely stylish looking laptop, that does not stand a chance in front of a macbook.. and more over its not just a matter of style..

Grand sweets..

Grand sweets is a shop in quiet neighbourhood Adyar.. If you were in Chennai, Grand sweets would require no intro... This has been operational for the past 26 years.

Well I have a sweet tooth (anything with sugar/jaggery in it.. barring few.. I can eat..in large quantity). So visits to Grand sweets is something I would not miss.. As a kid, I would tag along with my father, once a month, to get snacks.. When you are waiting to collect your order, they serve snacks in small quantity (ghee dripping sweet pongal.. or curd rice loaded with fried cashew).. You wouldn't mind waiting.. Trust me.. these guys have redefined how business is done..

1. Quality at its foremost.. It just can't get any better
2. Preserving tradition..
3. Good customer service..
4. Reasonable price..
5. Rare dishes made to perfection..
6. Employment opportunity for women at work in this place..(Quite a few)..

Never have I seen anyone complaining about this place..

My favourite: Adhirasam.. (Its a flat circular sweet made out of jaggery)
I also like potato chips made at this place .. I should drive down.. pick something right away..

Excessive compulsive disorder.. to skim through reddit / slashdot.. every morning.. bookmark every damn thing that remotely concerns/interests me.. with the hope one day I would have the time to read it...
End result.. a haphazardly organized bookmarks.. that keeps me reminding there are half a million stuff that remains unattended..

Connecting dots...

This is pretty old video.. and I had completely forgotten about this.. Infact I had read the transcript, but never actually viewed the video.. This is one of the rare occasions, Steve Jobs pulls something emotionally dramatic and still holds the crowd , as usual...

"Connecting the dots" is something I can't agree less... Everything falls into place when you look back.. "You can only look back.." "you cannot look forward... ".. Damn I wonder how many hours he thought to put all this into his speech..

What may seem the worst situation, may turn out to be not so bad (may be even good)... and what may seem as the best moment in your life may turn out soar.. when you look back...

I thought my career was doomed when my manager quit.. but it turned out not so bad..
